We live in turbulent times of rising authoritarianism, state-sponsored disinformation, political and economic instability, censorship, and digital monopolies. Our freedom is under attack. But we as developers are not powerless! In this roundtable, we'll discuss what already happened, and do a risk assessment of what could happen. Then we will shift gears and focus on actions we can take: growing our digital independence, how to adapt app publishing and Android development, where to communicate, adapting AI usage, building a trusted network of like-minded people, how to use cross-platform as leverage, using the growing demand for ethical products to start businesses and projects, improving open source, investing, teaching, making more privacy-focused software, and many more. Because we as developers have power, and we are stronger together. Let's use it for good!
